You Can Do It!

United Methodists believe that each of us is called to participate in the outreaching ministry of Jesus Christ. Volunteers embody Christian love in action by bringing their diverse talents to mission programs, local outreach ministries, and emergency response and recovery work around the world.

“Everyone can be great because everyone can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t even have to make your subject and your verb agree… You only need a heart full of grace…a soul generated by love.”

—Martin Luther King, Jr.

We love our volunteers at First Church Oviedo! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the information below and let us know the area(s) you are interested in serving. Thank you for your interest!
We will drive to the Florida United Methodist Children's home for an evening of celebration and fun. We will provide dinner, play games and get to know the children in their cottages. House parents will be there for support. Time commitment, which includes drive time, is 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Families are welcomed to participate, but Children's Home rules mandate that children must be at least 12 years old.
Volunteers needed to help set up and/or provide food
First Church Oviedo has created a Parachute Team that can be assembled quickly to provide immediate assistance to those who find themselves in a crisis situation with nowhere to turn. No special skills are required to be a part of this team, although special skills are always welcome.
Volunteers are needed for our Wednesday after-school program, Homework Helpers, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
