United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is an active group of women who enjoy growing together spiritually while working on local and international mission projects.  There are eight (8) different circles that meet on different days and times during the month.  This allows members an opportunity to focus on specific special mission interests in smaller groups, in addition to “helping hands” services and other outreach opportunities. Each circle prayerfully considers where God is calling them to serve and to what areas they can contribute their time and resources.

The UMW of First Church Oviedo is the largest unit in the East Central Florida District. These are the special mission interests we support and participate in:

  • Lawton “Angels” Backpack Program
  • Ishe Anesu – Zimbabwe
  • Restoration Ministries for Women
  • Soaring Unlimited – Haiti
  • United Methodist Children’s Home

We also have Women’s Night of Fellowship four times a year with guest speakers and special programs. Dinner is complimentary for newcomers! Our next one is November 12th at 6:00 p.m. CLICK HERE for more information!

A new women’s circle is forming and will meet once a month on Sunday for lunch and fellowship. Our focus will be on missions and forming encouraging relationships with one another. The next meeting will be Sunday, July 14th from noon to 2 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Lunch is free and childcare is available. Contact Laura Gorman at laurajgorman@hotmail.com
