Lenten Devotionals

What is Lent?

Lent is a traditional time of preparation for the observance of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a solemn observance during which time Christian engage in intensive prayer, self-examination, confession of sin, repentance of sin, generosity, and denial of self. The objective is to take the focus off our own ego and satisfaction of our own selfish wants and desires and focus on the needs of others and on Christ.

When is Lent?

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. In 2020, Lent begins on Wednesday, February 26 and ends on Thursday, April 9, or Maundy Thursday.

Lenten Devotionals

Each week, we will provide a series of daily devotions with questions that focus on the theme of the upcoming sermon. For those groups that want to do a Lenten Bible study, our suggestion is that you use these daily devotions and questions as well as the sermon text and questions to guide your discussion.
