Children’s Home

What started as an orphanage in 1908 is now The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home. With its main campus in Enterprise and its Youth Ranch in the Panhandle, the FUMCH makes a difference in the lives of abused, abandoned, neglected and dependent children by providing a better life for them. Children living in one of the 14 houses on the main campus in Enterprise range from 5 to 17 years old. Boys and girls are accepted without regard to race, creed or national origin. They attend either the on-campus school or public school during the day, returning home to the 100-acre campus after school where they receive physical, emotional, social and spiritual support. The Home provides residential care, therapeutic group care, foster care, emergency shelter care, independent living assistance and a community child care center.

We will drive to the Florida United Methodist Children’s home for an evening of celebration and fun. We will provide dinner, play games and get to know the children in their cottages. This will involve two cottages, so there are 8 volunteer slots available.  House parents will be there for support. Time commitment, which includes drive time, is 4:45 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.  We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall at 4:45 p.m. to collect the food and leave as a group for the Children’s Home.  We will be back at the church by 8:00 p.m. to unload and return items to kitchen.  Families are welcomed to participate, but Children’s Home rules mandate that children must be at least 12 years old.
